A 13-year-old boy, a resident of Badlapur in Maharashtra’s Thane district, who was hooked on a social messaging mobile cellphone app, left his residence and was later present in Goa, police stated on Friday. The boy was reunited along with his dad and mom on Wednesday, three days after he left residence, they stated.

“The teenager left his home on October 31, after informing his dad and mom that he could be away for one 12 months,” assistant police inspector Sandesh Extra of Badlapur East police station stated.

His dad and mom then lodged a grievance with the police and a case of kidnapping was filed on this connection, he stated.

“When the police inquired along with his associates, they got here to know that the boy was related with different youngsters on Discord cell app and used to chat within the group for hours,” he added.

His associates additionally advised the police that the members of the chat group had determined to go away their homes to do one thing in life as a way to show themselves, Extra stated.

Accordingly, the cyber cell of the Thane police have been roped in, who traced the IP tackle of the cell phone utilized by the boy and located the chats by means of which they got here to know that he was in Goa.

“The police tracked him down at Calangute in Goa and was reunited along with his household. He had travelled to the neighbouring state by way of Kolhapur,” the police officer stated.
