Govt to enhance electric vehicles' testing facilities from next fiscal

With the federal government anticipating a spike in demand for electric vehicles, the state-owned National Testing House (NTH) stated that it’ll present battery testing providers for batteries of those automobiles in its Mumbai and Kolkata centres from 2023–24 onward.

Extra Secretary, Consumer Affairs Nidhi Khare stated on Monday that with the rising variety of electrical automobiles, ample testing services are required.

For this goal, the federal government is making the present services future-ready, she stated.

Khare instructed media individuals in a press convention that the NTH is making ready to supply testing providers for electrical automobiles’ batteries and charging programs at its Kolkata headquarters and Mumbai regional centre from the following fiscal.

The 2 centres of Mumbai and Kolkata had been chosen as a result of the utmost variety of electrical automobiles makers are situated in Pune and Mumbai, whereas the utmost variety of producers of electrical automobiles’ batteries are current in Kolkata, NTH Director Common Alok Kumar Srivastava stated.
